The New England Revolution have added defender Keegan Hughes to their supplemental roster for the upcoming 2025 Major League Soccer season, with options to extend his contract for 2026 and 2027. Hughes, a 24-year-old central defender standing at six feet three inches, joins the first team after previously playing with Revolution II.

This past season, Hughes gained valuable experience while on loan from the Columbus Crew to Loudoun United FC in the USL Championship, where he made 29 appearances and started 25 matches. He played a significant role in the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, starting three games and helping his team reach the Round of 16. Hughes began his professional career with the Columbus Crew, signing a Homegrown Player contract in January 2023 and making his MLS debut shortly after.

During the 2023 season, he primarily played for Crew 2 in MLS NEXT Pro, recording one goal in nine starts. He was later loaned to FC Tulsa in the USL Championship, again finding the net once in nine appearances. His college soccer career spanned four seasons at Stanford University, where he served as a senior captain and helped his team achieve nine shutouts while reaching the Sweet 16 in the NCAA College Cup. Hughes earned numerous accolades, including the MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, First Team All-American, and Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year.
