Tampa, Florida, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces successfully conducted a precision airstrike in Northwest Syria on February 23, taking out Muhammed Yusuf Ziya Talay, the senior military leader of Hurras al-Din (HaD), an Al-Qaeda affiliate.
This operation is part of CENTCOM’s ongoing efforts to disrupt and weaken terrorist networks that pose threats to U.S. forces, allies, and regional partners. The strike underscores CENTCOM’s commitment to countering terrorism and preventing attacks against civilians and military personnel worldwide.
Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, commander of US Central Command said, “As we have stated before, we will continue to pursue these terrorists to protect our homeland relentlessly, as well as U.S., allied, and partner personnel in the region.”
