After winning their last two games with a double overtime win against Cranford High and defeating Oratory Prep Academy by a score of 78-67. Raiders who stand at 6-3, Ranked number 69 in the state look to continue the success they had as they have another tough NJISSA (New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association) matchup this Saturday against Union Catholic who’s looking to get back in the win column after losing to Plainfield High 65-37.
Both teams showed great effort and determination as the first half concluded with Oratory Prep trailing by 4.
The game was cutting down to the wire down by seven points with 1:42 seconds remaining in regulation. Marcus Johnson #11, Guard of Oratory cuts the deficit by 5 with a huge three, 38.5 seconds remaining. As it seemed time is running out for a comeback Ryan Fay #13 of Oratory connects with a clutch three of his own to bring them down by three, with 19.6 seconds remaining. It was a great team effort, but the Scotch Plains Raiders Varsity team came out with the win. Final score Raiders 78, Oratory Prep 67.
Caleb McDowell #10 Raiders scored 13 points, & 4 rebounds. As on the other side Ryan Fay #13 Oratory scored 25 points.
