3 Men Arrested For Armed Robbery At New Britain, Connecticut Fastrak Station

An armed robbery involving a firearm in New Britain, Connecticut leads to three people arrested by Connecticut State Police.

On Thursday, Troopers from the Connecticut State Police responded to the New Britain Fastrak Station around noon for a report of an armed robbery involving a firearm. Connecticut State Police said, “Troopers were advised that the reporting party had been approached by two males, one of whom held a firearm to his abdomen and forcefully took his backpack.”

With assistance from the New Britain Police Department, Troopers located two males who were detained and identified as Shayne Bridges of New Britain and Juan Cruz also of New Britain.

Connecticut State Police said, “The victim confirmed that both Bridges and Cruz were the two males that approached him, and they were in possession of items that belonged to the victim.”

Troopers, with assistance from the State of Connecticut DOT, reviewed surveillance cameras at the Fastrak that captured the incident in its entirety.

“Camera footage revealed that following the robbery, Bridges handed the firearm off to a third male who was still on scene,” Connecticut State Police said. “The third male was identified as Jackie Farmer of Hartford, who did not have a valid pistol permit.”

Connecticut State Police also said that a search of Bridges’ person revealed that he was in possession of narcotics as well.
