Police In Chicopee, Massachusetts Investigating A Fatal Crash

A fatal crash on Shawinigan Dr. in Chicopee, Massachusetts remains under investigation by the Chicopee Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team and the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office.

Chicopee Police Department confirmed that on Friday around 4:00 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call reporting a head on motor vehicle crash on Shawinigan Dr. 

Upon arrival Officers observed a male with serious injuries in one vehicle. Chicopee Police said the male who is 28, of Springfield, was removed from the vehicle and transported to an area hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries. 

The operator of the other vehicle involved, Chicopee Police said was also transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition but remains in the ICU.
