In the game of life and basketball, there are no days off when your goal is an NCAA Championship and for the Rhode Island Rams that includes Thanksgiving day. The Rams, who have remained undefeated to begin the 2024-25 season traveled to Florida State College at the Jacksonville South Campus on Thursday for a matchup with the UT Arlington Mavericks, and with an 83-78 win, the Rams improved to 7-0. The last time the Rams started their season 7-0 was the 1980-81 season.
Jamarques Lawrence and Sebastian Thomas both added 18 points to the board in Thursday night’s win. Lawrence, a junior from Plainfield, New Jersey, finished with five defensive rebounds, seven assists, and one block. Thomas finished the night with three defensive rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
David Green also contributed to the Rams victory, putting 15 points on the board. He finished with one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, two assists, and one block.
Brown and Farrell combined added ten points to the board.
The Rams bech stepped up with 22 points, and Drissa Traore had extended time off the bench.
The Rams finished with 16 fast break points, 30 points in the paint, 15 points off turnovers, and five second chance points.
