Connecticut State Police arrested Amanda C Wells, 37, of New Milford, Connecticut following a motor vehicle vehicle stop on Route 7 in North Canaan, Connecticut for Interfering with an Officer; Use of Drug Paraphernalia; Sale of Narcotic Substance; Criminal Possession of a Firearm/Ammo/Defense Weapon; Illegal Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine; and Illegal manufacture, distribution, sale, prescription, dispensing of narcotics.
At around 11:11 p.m., Thursday night, a Connecticut State Trooper pulled a vehicle over on Route 7. After approaching the vehicle and making contact with the three occupants in the vehicle, the Trooper was given false names by two of the vehicle occupants who were passengers in the vehicle.
Another Trooper and their K9 partner, K9 Gordon, who is a certified narcotics detection dog, responded. While conducting a cursory search of the vehicle, K9 Gordon alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
Troopers then searched the vehicle, and during that search, Connecticut State Police said a loaded 9mm handgun, large amounts of cash, and drug paraphernalia were located within the vehicle.
Connecticut State Police said, “The person in possession of the contraband was arrested and processed without incident.” That person was identified by Connecticut State Police as Amanda C Wells.
Dustin John Yeomans, 33, of New Milford, Connecticut, was identified by Connecticut State Police as the driver of the vehicle. He was issued a misdemeanor summons Possession of Paraphernalia.
Joshua Devin Marcy, 32, of Danbury, Connecticut, was identified by Connecticut State Police as a passenger in the vehicle, and he was charged with interfering with an officer.
Both Dustin and Joshua, Connecticut State Police said, were released on written promise to appear.
