On November 4th, 2024, the University of Rhode Island Football program achieved highs they have not reached in years. Being ranked 10th in the country in the AFCA coaches poll and 11th in the country in the Stats Preform Poll, this is the highest they have ranked since 2021.
Back in the 20-21’ football season, the Rams’ ranked as high as fourth in the country, and held this for a span of three weeks straight. Prior to this, the highest they have ever ranked in school history was back in 1984, where they ranked third in the country.
With the Rams being the highest-ranked CAA Football team in the Stats Perform poll, they now join Villanova (No. 12), Richmond (No. 13), Stony Brook (No. 17) and William & Mary (No. 20) now being in the same conversation as other high-end programs in the country.
Next week, they will be playing away against the Delaware Blue Hens, going into this matchup with a six game win streak, in pursuit of gathering their seventh win in a row.
