On Tuesday, the Worcester Red Sox resumed their suspended game against the Syracuse Mets at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse, New York. The game had been halted on August 11 due to inclement weather, with the WooSox trailing 4-2 in the top of the fifth inning.
During the game on August 11th, the Syracuse Mets had scored four runs, with Drew Gilbert, Luke Ritter, DJ Stewart, and Pablo Reyes contributing to their 4-0 lead.
In the top of the fifth inning, Bobby Dalbec smashed his 16th homer of the season, and Eddy Alvarez scored, narrowing the lead to 4-2.
Continuing from where they left off in Syracuse, the Mets played as the home team and the Worcester Red Sox as the away team on Tuesday night. Jamie Westbrook and Kyle Teel scored in the top of the fifth, leveling the game at 4-4. In the top of the sixth, Corey Rosier scored, giving the Red Sox a 5-4 lead.
Worcester extended their lead to 11-4 in the top of the ninth. Tyler Heineman hit his fourth double of the season, bringing Kristian Campbell and Roman Anthony home. Jamie Westbrook hit a single to right field, allowing Dalton Guthrie and Tyler Heineman to score. Tyler McDonough then hit his fourth double of the season to right field, bringing Jamie Westbrook and Kyle Teel home.
