On Friday night, the Connecticut Sun suffered their second consecutive loss, falling 72-67 to the Las Vegas Aces. Leading the Sun, Brionna Jones contributed 17 points, six rebounds, and one assist, while Marina Mabrey added 15 points, two rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block. DiJonai Carrington finished with eight points, six rebounds, one assist, one steal, and a career-high two blocks.

Following the Sun’s loss, Coach Stephanie White said, “Yeah this is disappointing um you know I felt like we we uh we hurt ourselves at multiple times throughout the course of this game.” 

Coach White talked about missing an opportunity with Friday night’s loss. She said they didn’t play their best game and that they need to bounce back, pointing out that the sun has a tough road trip ahead.

Meanwhile, in Hartford at Dunkin’ Park, the Yard Goats secured a 6-1 victory in the fourth game of their six-game series against the Altoona Curve, bouncing back from a seven-game win-streak snapped by Altoona the previous night. Sean Sullivan made his sixth start for the Yard Goats, pitching four innings and allowing one run on five hits, with two walks and three strikeouts. The Yard Goats scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning, with Bernabel, Fulford, Datres, Restituyo, Palma, and Kent all contributing to the offensive production. 

In Boston, the Red Sox defeated the White Sox 3-1, with Nick Pivetta pitching six innings, giving up one run on five hits while striking out six. Triston Casas and Ceddanne Rafaela were instrumental in the victory, with Casas connecting for an RBI single in the fourth inning and Rafaela hitting a two-run homer in the seventh.
