US Men’s Basketball Surfs Past South Sudan 103-86

The USA men’s basketball team took on South Sudan in their second group stage game at the Stade Pierre Mauroy Stadium in Lille, France on Wednesday. The US defeated Serbia in their first stage game on Sunday.

Unlike in their game against Serbia in which they trailed 10-2 to start the game, they got off to a hot start and led 26-14 at the end of the first quarter. They also outscored South Sudan 29-22 in the second quarter, leading by 19 at halftime.

South Sudan was able to outscore the US 21-18 in the third, but the deficit was too much as the US won their second group stage game 103-86. Bam Adebayo led the way with 18 points on 8 of 10 shooting.

Their third group stage game will be on Saturday as they will face off against Puerto Rico. Tip-off is set for 11:15 a.m. ET.
