The Boston Red Sox completed a three-game series against the MIlwaukee Brewers at Fenway and played the first game of the series against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards in Baltimore over Memorial Day Weekend.

The Red Sox lost three out of the four games, with the only win being Sunday’s game against the Brewers, which avoided a series sweep.

Friday’s Game vs. Brewers- The Red Sox lost 7-2 against the Brewers, as Dominic Smith scored both runs on a RBI double from David Hamilton and a solo homer from Smith himself. Kutter Crawford had a rough outing allowing seven hits, and six earned runs on only 4 ⅓ innings including a two-run homer from catcher William Conteras. Rafael Devers did not score, which snapped a streak of 10 straight games with scoring at least one run.

Saturday- The Sox lost their second in a row as they were no-hit through six innings with pitchers Jared Koenig and Colin Rea pitching a combined no-hitter while being up 5-0 after scoring five runs in the third inning. Ceddane Rafaela had 2 RBIs on two singles, and Devers scored on a single by Wilyer Abreu. The Sox lost 6-3 to the Brewers, as they already lost the series. They hit no homers in the game which snaps their 11-game home run streak as a team.

Sunday- The Red Sox were tied at one after the fifth inning when Contreras tied the game with a RBI single. This was until Jarren Duran came through with a RBI single to let in Rafaela, who was the go-ahead run. After strong pitching from Tanner Houck, striking out seven, and Justin Slaten striking out the side in the eighth to earn his third win in relief, and Kenley Jansen striking out two of the three batters to get his ninth save of the season as the Sox win 2-1. Monday’s Game vs. Orioles- The Red Sox were in a 11-0 deficit to enter the eighth inning before the Sox loaded the bases, and Hamilton hit a bases-clearing Triple to make it 11-3. Kyle Stowers hit a career-high four RBIs, while Cedric Mullins hit a two-run Triple off Cooper Criswell. The Sox would go on to lose 11-3 to the Orioles.

Transactions: The Red Sox traded Pablo Reyes to the New York Mets after spending 19 days in Worcester after the Sox designated him for assignment on April 29 after hitting a .183 batting average in 21 games this season. Reyes was immediately sent down to Triple-A Syracuse. On Sunday, the Sox signed Brad Keller with a one-year contract and sent down Zach Kelly back to Worcester. The Sox also announced the Garrett Whitlock will be shut down for the rest of the season. Keller pitched the last four innings of the game on Monday making his Sox debut.
