On Wednesday at the United States District Court in Hartford, Connecticut, U.S. District Judge Michael P. Shea sentenced Angel Delgado to 54 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release.
On February 22, 2023, Delgado pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl.
During an investigation conducted by the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force and the Hartford Police Department into gang-related drug trafficking and firearm possession by members of Los Solidos, an investigator ordered 20 sleeves of fentanyl from Delgado over the phone.
Delgado was arrested at a hotel in Hartford where he was living, and during a search of Delgado’s person investigators seized approximately 250 sleeves of fentanyl and 13 capsules of cocaine. During a search of the hotel room Delgado was staying in, investigators seized another 1,700 sleeves of fentanyl. Some of the sleeves contained a mixture of fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and xylazine.
In 35 years, Delgado has been convicted 26 times for offenses relating to drugs, assaults, failure to appear, violation of a protective order, and other offenses.
Delgado has been detained since his arrest, and was indicted on June 8, 2022, by federal grand jury along with Luis Feliciano, also known as “Louminaty,” and 14 others with various narcotics distribution and firearm possession offenses.
During their investigation, the FBI’s Northern Connecticut Gang Task Force and the Hartford Police Department used court-authorized wiretaps which revealed that members of Los Solidos distributed fentanyl, heroin, cocaine, and crack to customers and other distributors in the Hartford area, including Delgado, and also to individuals in New York and Maine.
