It’s All About 18: Celtics Home Win Streak Best In Franchise History

On Wednesday night, the Celtics won a franchise record 18 home wins. At a perfect 18-0 at home topping the 1957 Celtics team led by Bill Russell and Bob Cousy with a 17-0 record.

The Celtics tandem of Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown, proved troublesome to all who attempt to handle them. Averaging over 28 points a game Tatum, with a new found physical strength, adding 12 pounds, drives to the basket for inside the paint points at will

Coupling Tatum’s production with Jaylen Brown’s 23 points a game has the Celtics looking excellent as contenders for the Larry O’Brien trophy. 

Derrick White sporting a newly found clean shaven look, not only leads guards in the league with 1.2 blocks per game but his consistent production is arguably of All Star caliber this season

The addition of Kristaps Porzingis not only contributes to an already stout defense but with nearly two blocks per game average Porzingis, has sent adversaries reeling. Completely underrated insertion to the lineup is found in guard Jrue Holiday. 

Holiday not only comes with staunch defense and the ability to score but ball handling skills that keep the Celtics turnovers to a minimum. Costly turnovers which have haunted the Celtic stat sheet in playoff games past.

Desperately attempting to keep young players focused Al Horford effectively contributes and anchors the team with veteran experience. Bench production from Payton Pritchard and Sam Hauser enhance what could be called the strongest starting six man rotation in the league.

A menacing grimace and kiss goodnight from Jason Tatum, as he buried a game solidifying three pointer in overtime, has Celtics fans hoping that Championship dogs will soon bark in Boston again. 

With 17 Championship banners hanging from the rafters of the TD Garden, a flawless beginning at home has the Celtics fixing their sights on another historic number 18.
