Thomas Humphrey, 47, of Goffstown, New Hampshire, was arrested Friday and charged with one count of second-degree murder.
Humphrey is accused of stabbing and killing his mother Linda Tufts on November 28, 2023, in Goffstown, New Hampshire.
On Tuesday, November 28, at approximately 2:20 p.m. Goffstown, New Hampshire police were dispatched to a single-family residence in Goffstown.
Upon arrival officers located the body of Linda Tufts, Linda Tufts, as well as an active fire in the residence.
Officers extinguished the fire, and while conducting a safety check of the premises also found inside the home Thomas Humphrey, who was alive but injured and was hospitalized for treatment for apparent self-inflicted knife wounds.
Both Linda Tufts and Thomas Humphrey lived in the house where they were found.
Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Jennie V. Duval conducted an autopsy on Linda Tufts and determined that Ms. Tufts’ cause of death was multiple stab and incised wounds, and the manner of her death was homicide.
On Monday, Humphrey is scheduled to be arraigned at the Hillsborough County Superior Court – Northern District, in Manchester.
