The Boston College Eagles were in Pittsburgh to take on the Pitt Panthers on Thursday night. BC was coming off a home blowout loss against Virginia Tech.
With the score tied at 3 in the second quarter, Nate Yarnell scored the first touchdown of the game from four yards out to make it a 10-3 game with 9:07 left in the half. The Eagles would kick a 45-yard field goal with 26 seconds left in the half, and Boston College trailed 10-6 at halftime.
BC would take their first lead of the game with 8:56 left in the third quarter when Tom Castellanos found Lewis Bond for a 24-yard score, making it a 13-10 game in favor of the Eagles.
Pitt took the lead less than two minutes later as Yarnell found Bub Means for a 61-yard score. After the Eagles kicked a field goal to close the gap to 17-16, Pitt running back Rodney Hammond Jr ran for a 66-yard touchdown to give them a 24-16 lead.
Boston College would get the ball back in the final seconds, but they would turn the ball over, and Pitt won 24-16.
The Eagles will return home next week to take on Miami in their regular season finale. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET.
