The Boston Bruins were on the road, taking on the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX on Monday night. The Bruins lost their first game of the year against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.
Boston got off to a hot start, scoring the first two goals of the game in the first period. Rookie John Beecher scored his first NHL goal to put the Bruins up 1-0 10:21 into the period. Another rookie for the Bruins, M Lohrei scored his first NHL goal to make it 2-0 14:09 into the first period.
After neither scored in the second, Dallas cut the lead in half 5:09 into the third period. Boston’s third goal came 9:51 into the period by way of Brad Marchand, making the score 3-1. The Stars would score late, but it was too little too late as the Bruins held on for a 3-2 victory, their 10th of the season.
Boston will return home to take on the New York Islanders on Thursday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
