Connecticut Sun Lose Series After 87-84 Loss

The Connecticut Sun played game four of the best of five series at home. The Sun were down 2-1 in the series on the brink of elimination.

The New York Liberty defeated the Sun 87-84 to advance to the WNBA Finals as they take on the Las Vegas Aces. 

New York had three scorers with 20 plus points. Breanna Stewart led the way with 27 points while grabbing nine rebounds.

Jonquel Jones was the only Liberty player with a double-double scoring 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.

Betnijah Laney has had her third straight 20 point game this series. Laney had 21 points, seven rebounds, and 5 assists.

For Connecticut Alyssa Thomas led her team in all three major categories scoring 17 points, grabbing 15 rebounds, while also dishing out 11 assists.

Tiffany Hayes was the second highest scorer with 15 points. Dijonai Carrington was the leading scorer off the Sun bench with 14 points.

DeWanna Bonner and Tyasha Harris also scored in double figures as Bonner scored 12 points and Harris scored 10 points.

The Connecticut Sun season has now ended after going 27-13 in the regular season and exiting in the second round of the playoffs.
