Connecticut Sun Take Game One With 78-63 Win

After going 0-4 versus the New York Liberty in the regular season the Connecticut Sun stole game one in New York to take a 1-0 series lead.

DeWanna Bonner led all scorers with 20 points while also grabbing seven rebounds.

Bonner moved up some all time ranks with her 20 point performance, Bonner is now third all-time in scoring in Connecticut Sun franchise playoff history (394 points) and is fourth all-time in field goals in WNBA postseason history (362 Field Goals).

Rebecca Allen contributed a career high 18 points in the win while also adding seven rebounds, two steals, and two blocks.

Alyssa Thomas tallied a near triple-double with eight points, seven rebounds, and 10 assists. With those 10 assists Thomas moved into ninth all-time in WNBA Postseason history (213 assists).

Tiffany Hayes and Natisha Hiedeman both scored in double figures with 12 points each. Hayes added seven rebounds and two assists to her 12 points.

Hiedeman added two rebounds and four assists to go along with her 12 points while also moving up the all-time ranks in Connecticut Sun postseason history. Hiedeman moved into second all-time in postseason games played (34) and fifth all-time in assists (213) in Connecticut Sun postseason franchise history.

For the Liberty Breanna Stewart led them in points with 19 while also having six rebounds and three assists. New York also saw Jonquel Jones post a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Game Two will be in New York with tip off scheduled for 8:00PM EST.
