Tuesday night around 5:15 PM, Massachusetts State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 495 southbound at mile marker 33.8 in Foxborough.
Upon arrival Troopers located a 2018 Ford Escape and a 2012 Hyundai Tucson involved in a crash and Immediately after the crash, one vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
The Ford Escape was operated by a 24-year-old woman from Mansfield, and the Hyundai Tucson was operated by a 30-year-old man from North Easton.
Both operators suffered serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
The operator of the Ford later succumbed to her injuries.
The exact cause and circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
