The Connecticut Sun defended their home court on Thursday night against the Phoenix Mercury for the second time this week after playing the Los Angeles Spark this past Sunday.

The Sun picked up their second straight win behind their great guard play with both point guards Natisha Hiedeman and Tyasha Harris as their leading scorers.

Hiedeman finished the night with 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Harris also had 18 points along with 2 assists and a steal.

Alyssa Thomas had 12 points in what was another double-double and near triple-double performance grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out 8 assists to go with those 12 points.

DeWanna Bonner and Tiffany Hayes also scored double digits in the win. Bonner had 15 points while Hayes had 13.

Dijonai Carrington was out with a left foot injury while for Phoenix Diana Taurasi was out with a left toe injury.

For the Mercury Brittney Griner led the way with 15 points. Sug Sutton, Michaela Onyenwere, Megan Gustafson also scored in double figures. Sutton had 13 points, Onyenwere finished with 11, and Gustafson scored 10.

The Connecticut Sun head on the road to face the New York Liberty for the last meeting between the two teams this season.
