Two men from Chelsea, Massachusetts were arrested Friday night by Boston Police in East Boston with a loaded 357 Magnum Revolver.

Boston Police have identified the two men arrested as Alexis Andrades, 28, of Chelsea, and Luis Romero 21, of Chelsea.

Officers with the Boston Police Department assigned to District A-7 in East Boston were on patrol at about 10:58 PM, Friday night in the area of Bennington Street, when Boston Police say “They observed a motor vehicle with excessive window tint. Officers conducted a CJIS inquiry of the motor vehicle, which revealed that the owner of the vehicle did not have an active license. Officers activated their emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop in the area of 254 Havre Street.”

After approaching the vehicle and making contact with both of the occupants inside the vehicle, Boston Police said “The driver did not have an active license. Officers requested both occupants to exit the vehicle. After further investigation, officers located a loaded firearm, multiple loose rounds of ammunition, and plastic bags believed to be containing marijuana from inside the vehicle.”

The firearm, Boston Police said “Was later determined to be a .357 Magnum Revolver loaded with five rounds, and 35 rounds of loose ammunition.”

Andrades was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D. He is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.

Romero was placed under arrest and charged with; Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle. He is expected to be arraigned in East Boston District Court.
