YESTERDAY’S NEWS:
The Worcester Red Sox have started July winning five of their first eight games of the month. On Sunday, July 9th, 2023 Worcester went into the All-Star break with a 5-3 win against the Syracuse Mets. Worcester has won seven of nine against the Syracuse Mets and the two teams I’ll meet again August 2-6 in Syracuse.
THE ROAD LIFE:
The Worcester Red Sox will play 75 games this season on the road, and have already completed 40 of those road games. Tonight, Worcester will kick off a nine day road trip starting with a three-game weekend series at Financial Park against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. After having their normal day off on Monday, the Worcester Red Sox will kickoff a six-game series against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
TONIGHT:
The Worcester Red Sox will meet the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp for the first time this season Friday night when they kick off a three-game weekend series. In 2022 when these two teams met, Worcester won the series 5-1.
HE’S JUST THE OPENER (AGAIN):
Kyle Barraclough will be making his third start for Worcester tonight, and is looking to improve to 4-0 overall for the season, and 2-0 on the road. Barraclough is in his eighth Minor League season and first in a Worcester Red Sox uniform. In his last time out, Barraclough grabbed his third win on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 in Worcester’s 8-5 win against the Syracuse Mets. Barraclough gave up 2 runs and one hit, two walks and ten strikeouts in.
