On Friday, May 19, 2023, Springfield Police arrested Michel Perez-Cruz, 23, of Springfield.
Perez-Cruz was charged with Negligent/Reckless Operation of a Snow/Recreational Vehicle, Possession of a Class B Drug, Operating a Motor Vehicle in Violation of License Class, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, and Uninsured Motor Vehicle
At about 4:40 p.m., officers with the Springfield Police Department assigned to an Anti-Off-Highway-Vehicle (OHV)/Dirt Bike public safety detail officers observed a red dirt bike on Union Street; the rider, later identified as Perez-Cruz, was not wearing a helmet.
Officers then saw Perez-Cruz perform a wheelie while crossing the double-yellow lines in the road.
As Perez-Cruz got off the dirt bike on Ashley Street officers placed him under arrest and seized the dirt bike.
Officers also recovered crack-cocaine in Perez-Cruz’s pocket.
