The UConn women’s basketball team after a dominating win against 15th seed Vermont would match them up against seventh seed Baylor.
The Baylor Bears are coming off a narrow four point win against tenth seed Alabama and now come in as underdogs to the second seed huskies.
Baylor would show some fight in the first quarter going up 24-18. Going into the second UConn would wake up outscoring their opponent 22-11 in the second quarter.
Going into halftime the Huskies would be leading the Bears 40-35. But the second half would be more of the same as the Huskies would outscore the Bears in the third and fourth quarters.
In the end besides the first quarter the Huskies would outscore the Bears the entire game which would lead UConn to a 77-58 win over Baylor.
The Baylor Bears would see 15 points from Ja’Mee Asberry and 14 points from Jaden Owens
The Huskies would punch their ticket into the sweet sixteen behind a 22 point performance from Azzi Fudd and 19 points from Aaliyah Edwards.
UConn will return to action Saturday when they play third seed Ohio State for their Sweet Sixteen matchup.
