Boston Red Sox Drop Spring Training Finale to Atlanta Braves, 8-5

By Stephen Ur –

In their final game of the 2023 MLB Spring Training season, the Boston Red Sox played the Atlanta Braves on the second consecutive day. The two teams met on Monday afternoon, as well.

As they did yesterday, Atlanta scored the first run of the game. Boston came out strong in the bottom of the first, however, as Yoshida hit a two-run home run and Casas hit a solo shot to make the score 3-1 after one inning.

The Braves would take over from there over the next couple innings as a two-run single from Harris II tied the game at 3 before Albies hit a double, allowing Harris II to score, making the score 4-3.

They would add another run in the fourth on a home run from Arica and another in the fifth with a bases-loaded single from Workinger. The score was now 6-3.

The two would go back and forth through the fifth and eighth innings,  but in the end, it was the Braves who came away with the 8-5 win.

Boston finishes Spring Training with an even record at 14-14 after a 9-0 start. They will begin their season on Thursday when they host the Baltimore Orioles.
