The Boston Celtics were in Washington, DC to face the Wizards in their second-to-last road game of the regular season on Tuesday night. Boston was looking to keep pace with the Milwaukee Bucks for the top speed in the Eastern Conference.
Unfortunately, Washington had other plans. They were hoping to gain ground with the Chicago Bulls for the final playoff spot in the East, and they did just that with a 130-111 win.
Kristaps Porzingis led the way in the game with 32 points and 13 rebounds. It was Jayson Tatum who led the way for Boston, scoring 28 points in 32 minutes.
Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown were the only other two starters to score in double figures, scoring 14 and 18 points respectively. Malcom Brogdon had 13 points, but came off the bench.
The Celtics have a huge game coming on Thursday as they will look to gain ground against the Bucks when the top two teams in the Eastern Conference square off in Milwaukee. The game is set to tip off at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on TNT.
