Five kids from Derby, Connecticut, were involved in a fatal motor vehicle accident early Sunday morning in Scarsdale, New York.
At about 12:20 AM, a 16-year-old was operating a Nissan Rogue on the Hutchinson River Parkway north of the Mamaroneck Road exit, struck a tree and burst into flames.
Four of the victims were male and one was female. They range in age from 8 to 17.
A 9-year-old boy, Westchester County Police said survived the accident, and he was taken to an area hospital and is expected to recover.
