The Boston Red Sox took their undefeated Spring League record into their game against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night. Boston came into the game with a 7-0 record. They were the lone undefeated team remaining in all of MLB Spring Training.
Atlanta scored the first two runs in the third inning when Kevin Pillar homered to left field, allowing Marcell Ozuna to score.
Boston would go on to score the next six innings in the following two innings, including four runs in the fourth inning. Christian Arroyo recorded both of his RBIs in the two innings, one in the fourth and one in the fifth.
Stephen Scott homered in the eighth inning, increasing the Red Sox’s lead to 7-2. They would go on to score three more runs in the top of the ninth en route to a 10-2 victory, continuing their undefeated spring training season.
Tanner Houck got the win for Boston. He pitched three innings, allowing two runs and two walks while striking out four. The Red Sox will continue their Spring Training season on Thursday as they take on their rival in the New York Yankees.
