Its a new season for the New England Revolution as they kick off there 23-24 campaign. What better way then a Home Opener at Gillette Stadium against the MLS Houston Dynamo who are coming off a 2-1 loss against FC Cincinnati with new head coach Ben Olsen taking the reigns. New England is coming off a dramatic game winner against Charlotte with a final score1-0. Revolution #4 Henry Kessler capped an excellent display scoring a game winning goal in the 89th min which was unassisted. New England is currently 1-0 they look to make it 2-0. kickoff is slated for 7:30pm.
As the first half ends New England strikes on the board first with a goal from #11 Dylan Borrero assisted by #15 Brandon Bye. Houston has had the best chances with three shots on goal, while also adding on three yellow cards to #20 Coco Carrasquilla, #25 Griffin Dorsey, & GK #12 Steve Clark. Revolution are doing well on the pressure attack, but are having trouble with turning the ball over. New England had one shot on goal, three saves, & a corner kick. New England looks to keep the attack pressure going in the second half, but also look to fix a few things on the defensive side of the ball.
New England starts the second half strong scoring two goals one in the 53 min #17 Bobby Wood assisted by #24 Dejuan Jones, and one in the 56-min Bye unassisted. Revolution make 2 substitutions in the 62 min #6 Christian Makoun comes in for #29 Noel Buck, 69 min #9 Giacom Vrioni comes in for Wood.
The Revolution beat Dynamo at Home to improve there record to 2-0. Borrero, Wood, & Bye all scored in New England’s 3-0 win. There next match up is on the road against the 1-0 Los Angeles FC at BMO Stadium, Kick-Off set for 10:30PM.
