College Park Skyhawks Beat Maine Celtics In G-League Action.

The College Park Skyhawks traveled to Maine in what is the first of back to back games versus each other. College Park comes in at 6-7 which is 9th in the East. Maine is 8-6 which has them at 6th and the last spot in the playoffs going into tonight.

The First Quarter was a gridlock with the score by the end being tied at 25. But what was a close game was quickly not as the Skyhawks went on a 13-0 run to open up the Second Quarter. This was the beginning of what went on to be a dominant quarter for College Park as they outscored Maine 35-14. The Skyhawks would lead 60-39 going into halftime with a 21 point lead. 

The third quarter saw the Skyhawks hold onto their big lead from the last quarter. But the Celtics wouldn’t go down without a fight as they shortened the lead from 21 to 12. Maine won the quarter out scoring College Park 35-26. The score after the third was 86-74. The Celtics would attempt to fight back but the damage had already been done as the College Park Skyhawks would go on to win 114-96. 

For College Park Donovan Williams would give a solid 29 point performance with Cat Barber contributing 23 points as well. Maine would get a 24 point performance from Luka Samanic along with 16 from Denzel Valentine. These 2 teams will rematch tomorrow as the Celtics look to get even with the Skyhawks. Maine has now fallen to 8th in the East giving College Park an opportunity to pass them in the standings with a win and only being a spot behind them in 9th place.
