After a season where the Connecticut Sun clinched their second playoff berth in 4 years. The Sun have now traded 2021 MVP Jonquel Jones to the New York Liberty details being finalized later Sunday Night.
Jones is in the final year of her contract with the Sun who also brought in new Head Coach Stephanie White. The 6 foot 6 forward/center personally requested a trade to New York after averaging 14.6 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game.
The 4 time all-star now teams up with Sabrina Ionescu and the Liberty have also made multiple attempts at Free Agent Breanna Stewart who is a 2 time finals MVP. The New York Liberty are still looking for their fifth championship appearance in franchise history and their first since 2002 along with their first title. The Sun despite making 2 finals in 4 years are still looking for first title.
