In what was a Friday Night Showdown between the Main South Cougars and the South High Colonials. It all but lived up to the hype in the first half. With a 32-32 tie at Halftime, a back and forth of sorts with the two teams trading buckets despite some good defense with Main South running a 3-2 zone and South High with their full court press. Going into the half I heard the Main South coaching staff say “good first half just need to do that for 2 more quarters and I think they could pull out a win.”
The only problem with that statement is the Colonials came out the 3rd quarter swinging.
South out rebounding Main South and out scoring them with 2nd chance points. Occasionally also getting 3rd chance points. Between that and getting some blocks and steals that led to fast breaks. They got out to a 20 point lead and held it all the way through. In what went from a close game to South High having the crowd jumping on the home floor. The second half looked a lot different from the first. The Colonials move to 6-2 while Main South falls to 3-4.
