Worcester Red Sox Win Game 1 Of Six-Game Homestand Against Syracuse Mets 3-2

Tuesday night the Worcester Red Sox were back home at Polar Park to kick off their final homestand of the 2022 season. The Worcester Red Sox with a 3-2 win Tuesday night are now 72-69 on the season and have won three of their last nine games.

The first three innings of this game were soreless and then at the top of the fourth Jaylin Davis hit his eleventh double of the season to drive in Johan Mieses and Fitzgearald to put Worcester on top 0-2. Then Nick Sogard hit a single to drive in Pedro Castellanos and put Worcester on top 0-3. 

Bottom of the fifth the Syracuse Mets made this a 2-3 ballgame with Francisco Alvarez hitting his ninth homer of the season to drive in Deven Marrero.

Due to weather conditions in Worcester the game was called in the sixth inning allowing the WooSox to walk away from this one with the W.

In his first Triple-A start since May 7, Kyle Hart earned the win. The left-hander pitched six scoreless innings, working around eight hits and allowing two runs.

The WooSox continue the six-game home series on Wednesday night at 6:45 p.m. against the Syracuse Mets. On the mound, Victor Santos (2-4, 6.54) faces Joey Lucchesi (0-0, 0.00).
