Worcester Red Sox and the Rochester Red Wings met Thursday night for the third meeting of their six-game series at Polar Park.
Top of the first, Rochester Dominated this game with five runs to grab an early 5-0 lead. Bottom of the first, Triston Casas hit his eighteenth double of the season for Worcester to help drive in Abraham Almonte and make this a 5-1 game.
Top of the second, Jake Alu hit a single to drive in Josh Palacios and that put Rochester on top 6-1. But a homer by Franchy Cordero at the bottom of the second made this a 6-2 ballgame.
Top of the third the Rochester Red Wings had two runs to put them on top 8-2.
The rest of this game was a come from behind to get a walk-off win story which started at the bottom of the fourth with Franchy Cordero hitting a single to drive in Ryan Fitzgerald to make it an 8-2 ballgame. Bottom of the fifth, Connor Wong hit his ninth homer of the season to drive in Triston Casas and make this an 8-5 ballgame.
Bottom of the sixth, Franchy Cordero made it an 8-6 ballgame with a homer, a wild pitch helped to get Ryan Fitzgerald over the plate to make this an 8-7 game and then Nick Sogard made it over the plate before the end of the frame to make it an 8-8 game.
Bottom of the ninth, Ryan Fitzgerald hit a single to drive in Triston Casas getting a 9-8 walk-off win for Worcester.
Worcester and Rochester will meet for game four of six Friday night at 6:45 PM.
