Early Friday morning at about 12:50 AM Boston Police arrested Jermaine Seams 42, of Dorchester and Jerrod Brown-Carter, 34, Boston. Seams has been charged with Unlawful Possession of a firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Carrying a firearm without a license, and Operation of an Unregistered Motor-Vehicle. Brown-Carter was arrested for a Straight Warrant issued out of Boston District Court on unrelated charges.
Officers assigned to district B2 were in the area of 135 Dudley Street when they observed a vehicle with an expired registration. The officer’s became aware that the vehicle registration was expired after doing a check with CJIS at which time they conducted a traffic stop, had a conversation with Jermaine Seams the identified operator of the vehicle.
Both Seams and Brown-Carter were advised by officers that the vehicle would be towed. As Brown-Carter excited the vehicle he advised officers that he had a warrant and was taken into custody.
After Seams excited the vehicle, officers did a search/inventory of the vehicle which is standard department practice when a vehicle is being towed. During their search of the vehicle officers located a loaded firearm at which time Seams was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives from B2 responded to 135 Dudley to do a firearm recovery which involved taking photos of the vehicle and the firearm where it was located in the vehicle. Detectives determined that the firearm was loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition in the magazine and one round in the chamber. Detectives also determined the firearm was privately made.
