In downtown Worcester the WooSox grabbed a 4-3 win against the Charlotte Knights. This was Worcester’s game at the bottom of the fifth with Yolmer Sanchez hitting his eighth dinger of the season to get Ronaldo Hernandez and Jeter Downs over the plate to put Worcester on top 0-3. What a way to welcome Jeter Downs back to Worcester from a short stint with Boston. At the top of the sixth Charlotte grabbed three runs to make it a 3-3 tie game. But at the bottom of the eighth Christin Stewart hit his seventh double of the season to get Jaylin Davis over the plate and get Worcester a 3-4 win, their third win of this homestand against the Charlotte Knights.
After grabbing two wins against the Somerset Patriots, the Yard Goats on Thursday night lost 4-7. Ezequiel Tovar hit his thirteenth double of the season at the top of the first to get Daniel Montano over the plate. At the top of the sixth Michael Toglia hit his thirteenth homer of the season. At the the top of the seventh Daniel Cope hit his fourth homer of the season and then at the top of the ninth Ezequiel Tovar hit a single to drive in Isaac Collins.
Up in Manchester, New Hampshire the Fisher Cats grabbed Win two against the Altoona Curve. Altoona picked up a homer at the top of the first and the at the bottom of the first Spencer Horowitz hit his fourteenth double of the season to get John Aiello over the plate to make it a 1-1 game. With a run at the bottom of the third and the bottom of the eighth, the Fisher Cats secured a 3-1 win.
