On Sunday morning at about 8:54 a.m., Massachusetts State Police responded to a motor vehicle accident at exit 30A on Route 290. Upon arrival Troopers observed a 2007 Jeep Wrangler in the wood line.
Massachusetts State Police have identified the operator as Elijah Pye, a 20, of Cherry Valley in Leicester, Massachusetts.
Pye was removed from the vehicle and transported to UMass Hospital on Lake Ave where he was later pronounced deceased.
A passenger in the vehicle, also 20, of Cherry Valley in Leicester, Massachusetts was transported with serious injuries to UMass on Lake Ave.
