WooSox, Yard Goats, Sea Dogs And Fisher Cats Win Big Tuesday For New England

The Worcester Red Sox on Tuesday night kicked off their second six-game game homestand for May against the Railriders. Worcester added Brayan Bello and A.J. Politi to their roster Tuesday. Kyle Hart and Darin Gillies were both sent down to Portland who kicked off their six game set against the Harrisburg Senators on Tuesday night. Worcester added Johan Mieses back to the lineup for Tuesday night. The game remained scoreless at the end of the second going into the third and in the bottom of the third, Jeter Downs got Worcester on the board with a run. After going six scoreless innings, the Railriders got a homer and two runs to grab a 3-1 lead. In the bottom of the seventh, with Jarren Duran and Roberto Ramos both scoring, Worcester tied up the game 3-3. In the bottom of the 8th Jarren Duran scored again for Worcester to get a 3-4 win, their first win since May 5th.

Up North in Portland Tuesday night the Portland Sea Dogs hosted the Harrisburg Senators. At the top of the first the Senators got their solo run of the game. In the bottom of the second Izzy Wilson and Christian Koss both scored for Portland. In the bottom of the third Kole Cottam scored and then Hudson Potts hit his 5th homer of the season to drive in Izzy Wilson and Tyler Dearden. After losing 6-7 down in Hartford Sunday afternoon, the Sea Dogs claimed a 6-1 win Tuesday night.

The Yard Goats, Tuesday night kicked off a twelve-game roadtrip with their first six-game set in Bowie, Maryland against the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles affiliate). This will be the only series this season between the Baysox and the Yard Goats. Gunnar Henderson at the bottom of the first opened this contest up with his fifth homer of the season for the Baysox to drive in Hudson Haskin but at the top of the second the Yard Goats got things rolling first with Brenton Doyle scoring and then Jimmy Herron hit his fifth homer of the season to drive in Niko Decolati and Jack Blomgren. The good times kept on rolling for the Yard Goats at the top of the third with Kyle Datres and Willie Maclver both scoring. In the bottom of the fifth Gunnar Henderson hit his second homer of the game and sixth of the season for the Baysox. This contest was over at the top of the seventh with Aaron Shunk bringing in the final run of the game for the Yard Goats to get a 7-4 win. Yard Goats starter Noah Davis pitched a season-high seven innings and allowed just three runs for his first Eastern League victory.  He did not allow a hit past the fifth inning and retired eight of the final nine batters faced.  In addition, he retired the leadoff hitter from the third through seventh innings.

In Erie, Pennsylvania Tuesday night, the Manchester Fisher Cats claimed a 13-3 win against the Erie SeaWolves to kick off their six-game set at UPMC Park. After two scoreless innings Spencer Horowitz opened up this contest for the Fisher Cats at the top of the third hitting a single to drive in Rafael Lantigua. The SeaWolves had two runs in the bottom of the third. At the top of the fifth Zac Cook scored for the Fisher Cats and in the bottom of the fifth Luis Carpio scored for the SeaWolves. The Fisher Cats began their takeover of this contest at the top of the sixth inning with Phillip Clarke, Will Robertson and Tanner Morris scoring. Top of the 8th Tanner Morris scored again. The Fisher Cats brought the heat to this contest at the top of the ninth with Will Robertson hitting his third homer of the season to drive in Philip Clarke. Orelvis Martinez then hit his eleventh homer of the season to drive in Zac Cook and Rafael Lantigua. To wrap up the ninth inning and secure the win both Spencer Horowitz and Luis De Los Santos scored.
