Johan Mieses Hits 2 Homers In Worcester Red Sox 9-2 Win Against The Syracuse Mets

Back at NBT Bank Stadium in Syracuse Saturday night, the Worcester Red Sox claimed a 9-2 win to get their first W against the Syracuse Mets in this series.

Franchy Cordero got things going early in this game for the WooSox, hitting his seventh double of the season at the top of the first to drive in Triston Casas and make it a WooSox 1-0 lead. Also at the top of the first, all eyes were on Ryan Fitzgerald as he hit his second double of the season to drive in Franchy Cordero and make it a 2-0 WooSox lead. 

At the top of the second Johan Mieses and Nick Sogard both scored to make it 4-0 WooSox lead.

At the top of the fourth Yolmer Sanchez hit a single to drive in Jarren Duran and make it a 5-0 WooSox lead.

On Friday night the WooSox got back to hitting a homer a game after a Thursday night homer drought. Saturday night Johan Mieses hit his third homer of the season at the top of the 5th to make it a 6-0 WooSox lead. In the bottom of the 5th the Mets had two runs to make it 6-2 lead. 

At the top of the 6th Franchy Cordero hit a single to drive in Yolmer Sanchez and Triston Casas to make it an 8-2 WooSox lead.

Johan Mieses came back at the top of the 7th to hit his second homer of the game and fourth for the season to make it a 9-2 WooSox game.
