Bench-Clearing Brawl Between Sea Dogs And Rumble Ponies

At Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine, Thursday night’s game between the Portland Sea Dogs the Double-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies was a bench-clearing brawl.

It all started with an exchange of words in the bottom of the third inning between Red Sox prospect Tyreque Reed and Rumble Ponies starter Marcel Rentería after being hit by a pitch. 

Both Reed and Rumble Ponies third baseman Brett Baty were ejected from the game but not before Rentería got roughed up.
