With the Red Sox scheduled to travel to St. Petersberg this weekend for a series with the Tampa Rays, manager Alex Cora will not be on that trip as he has tested positive for COVID-19.
The Red Sox made the announcement that Cora tested positive before Thursday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Red Sox also said Cora who is fully vaccinated and boosted is experiencing mild symptoms.
This week, catchers Kevin Plawecki and Christian Vazquez both tested positive for COVID-19. Jonathan Arauz and two Red Sox staffers also tested positive. Vazquez has already been reinstated to the active roster.
