On Saturday the Worcester Red Sox continued a tradition started in their inaugural season by becoming Los Wepas de Worcester Red Sox and as they hosted the Iron Pigs on Saturday, they are still in first place.
Ryan Fitzgerald got this game rolling in the bottom of the first for Los Wepas hitting the ball out deep into center to get a triple and then Triston Casas got up with the single to drive Fitzgerald home and make it a 0-1 Los Wepas. Before the first would come to a close both Triston Casas and Franchy Cordero would score to make it a 0-3 lead.
Rob Refsnyder at the bottom of the second hit his first homer of the season 436 feet to left field and Triston Casas scored to make it a 0-7 Los Wepas lead.
In the bottom of the third Roberto Ramos hit his third homer of the season and Connor Wong scored to make it a 0-9 Los Wepas lead.
At the top of the 5th the Iron Pigs got on the board with one solo run and then at the bottom of the 6th Franchy Cordero hit his 5th double for the season to drive in Triston Casas and make it a 1-11 Los Wepas lead.
Delvy Grullon in the bottom of the 8th hit his first double to drive in Rob Refsnyder and Franchy Cordero to make it a 1-13 Los Wepas win.
