On Sunday in Jacksonville, Florida the WooSox secured a 9-4 win against the Jacksonville Shrimp to improve to 5-1 to start the 2022 season.
The WooSox led from the top of the second with Roldani Baldwin hitting his first homer of the season to make it a WooSox 1-0 lead. The top of the fifth, the WooSox came rolling in deep, getting three runs with Roldani Baldwin, Yolmer Sanchez and Jeter Downs. The Jumbo Shrimp had a run in the bottom of the fifth and another run in the bottom of the sixth but a double by Johan Mieses at the top of the seventh would drive home Triston Casas and Christin Stewart. In the bottom of the seventh the Jumbo Shrimp had two runs. The final two innings went scoreless and it was a 9-4 win for the WooSox to wrap up this six game series in Jacksonville.
The WooSox will now head home for their home opener on Tuesday and begin their first homestand of the 2022 season against the Iron Pigs.
