The Worcester Red Sox kicked off their 2022 season and second year as the WooSox down in Jacksonville Tuesday night claiming a 6-5 win against the Jumbo Shrimp.

It’s been 54 years since a Red Sox Triple-A team played in the State of Florida and that was the former Red Sox Triple-A the Louisville Colonels and they played the then Triple-A Mets team the Jacksonville Suns.

The first two innings at 121 Financial Ballpark in downtown Jacksonville Tuesday night went scoreless and then at the top of the third, Connor Wong scored to make it a 1-0 WooSox lead.
