Governor Charlie Baker has nominated Attorney Pacifico M. DeCapua, Jr. as Associate Justice of the District Court. Attorney DeCapua received his Bachelor’s degree from Trinity College in 1987 and his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law School in 1990.
Attorney DeCapua began his legal career in 1990 when he opened his own private practice and from 1991 until 2004, Attorney DeCapua served as a Bar Advocate for the Milford District Court, where he was certified to accept court appointed cases and focused on felonies and misdemeanors under the Court’s jurisdiction.
As a resident of Milford, Attorney DeCapua has served in many different volunteer roles. He currently serves as a Volunteer Housing Officer with the Milford and Hopedale Housing Authorities, acting as a hearing officer for tenants who file grievances.
Attorney DeCapua has also been active in local government, both as a Milford School Committee member from 2003 to 2009 and Chairman from 2006-2007 and as a Town Meeting member from 1993 to 1996 and from 2002 to 2014.
“Over the course of his career, Attorney DeCapua has demonstrated his deep expertise in the law,” said Lt. Governor Karyn Polito. “If confirmed by the Governor’s Council, I am confident that he will continue to serve the Commonwealth effectively and fairly as an Associate Justice of the District Court.”
