At Minute Maid Park in Houston on Saturday, the Red Sox turned to Nathan Eovaldi in Game 2 against the Astros in their best-of-seven American League Championship Series. In game one Friday night, the Astros defeated the Red Sox 5-4 but the Red Sox were not letting the Astros win game two as they claimed a 9-5 win.
Game 2 was not a competitive game for the Red Sox with Martinez hitting a grand slam at the top of the first, Devers hitting a grand slam at the top of the second and then Hernandez hitting a solo homer at the top of the fourth. In the bottom of the fourth for the Astros, Correa Tucker and Alvarez scored. In the bottom of the 9th Gurriel and Castro both hit a homer for the Astros to make it a 9-5 Red Sox game.
Hernandez now has three homers in this series, hitting two in game one and one in game two tonight. Also tonight, Martinez and Devers made history with back to back grand slams. It is the first time in a postseason game that that has been done.
Game three of this series will be Monday night at Fenway in Boston at 8:08 PM.
