Celtics Felt The Heat In Final Preseason Game

Friday night in Miami the Heat hosted the Celtics for the final preseason game. Brown and Horford were both out for health and safety protocols. Pitchard was out with a nasal fracture and Smart was out Friday night for a team suspension. Earlier this week allegedly Smart missed the team flight to Florida.

Three players tonight, Victor Oladipo, Romeo Langford and Juwan Morgan played for Indiana University. Also, tonight two gold medal olympians, Jayson Tatum and Bam Adebayo.

Tonight’s starters were Parker with 4 points, 1 rebound and 2 assists. Grant Williams with 4 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Tatum with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist. Langford with 18 points and 3 rebounds. Schroder with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists.

From the bench, Fernando with 2 points and 1 rebound. Hernangomez had 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Hauser had 5 points and 1 rebound. Mathews had 5 points and 1 rebound, Nesmith had 5 points and 2 assists. Kanter had 4 points with 4 rebounds. Pinson had 5 points with 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Richardson had 12 points with 3 assists. 

Friday night the Celtis definitely felt the heat in Miami with a 100-121 loss to end their postseason. In just five days the Celtics will begin their regular season in New York.

The Last three times that Miami and Boston met, Miami beat the Celtics. 

January 6, 2021 Miami won 107-105 at AmericanAirlines Arena. Payton Pritchard laid the ball in with 0.2 seconds remaining to give the C’s their third straight win to end their first extended road trip of the season with a 107-105 win over the Heat in Miami…Jayson Tatum scored a game-high 27 points to go along with five rebounds and four assists while Jaylen Brown added a double-double with 21 points, a season-high 12 rebounds and five assists to go along with two steals and two blocks…Daniel Theis was the only other Celtic to record double-figures in points with 13…The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler and his 26 points and eight rebounds while Bam Adebayo added 15 points, eight rebounds and a game-high 10 assists.

On May 9, 2021 Miami won 130-126 at TD Garden. The Heat never trailed in the game as they got up 26 points early in the game and beat the C’s 130-124…The Celtics were led by Evan Fournier and his 30 points and eight assists while Jayson Tatum added 29 points, five rebounds, six assists and two blocks…Kemba Walker added 18 points and six assists…Marcus Smart had 16 points while Aaron Nesmith continued his strong play off of the bench with 16 points…The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler and his 26 points, eight rebounds and 11 assists while Duncan Robinson added 22 points.

May 11, 2021 also at TD Garden, Miami won 129-121. Kemba Walker posted a season-high of 36 points but it was not enough as the Celtics fell in their final home game of the season 129-121…Jayson Tatum added 33 points, eight rebounds and six assists on the night while Evan Fournier added 20 points, four rebounds and eight assists…Marcus Smart added 10 points and five assists…The Heat were led by Tyler Herro and his 24 points and 11 rebounds coming off of the bench while Bam Adebayo added 22 points, seven rebounds, five assists and two blocks. 

The next time that the Celtics will play Miami will be November 14, game nine of the regular season for the Celtics
