Worcester Police Arrest Canal District Stabbing Suspect

Early Sunday morning, Worcester Police responded to a report of a fight in the area of of 73 Winter St.

Upon arrival officers observed a large crowd and were informed that someone had been stabbed in the face.

Officers located the stabbing victim and they were transported to an area hospital to be treated.

A description of the suspect was sent out to all officers and he was located on Harding St. As officers approached this male ran away from them from Temple St to Grafton St. He was eventually taken into custody in the area of the Kenmore Diner on Grafton St.

This individual has been identified as Jason Rennie, 33, of Worcester. Rennie has charged with Armed Assault to Murder, Mayhem, two counts of Possession of a Per Se Dangerous Weapon, Disorderly Conduct, and Disturbing the Peace.
