Patriots And Fans Back At Gillette Stadium For Thursday Night Football

By Tiffany Williams –

While the NFL has cranked up the amount of games we must endure, playing games on Thursday has been done for quite some time. Thanksgiving games have been played on a Thursday since 1934. The first non Thursday thanksgiving football game dates back to the late 1980s/early 1990s when the NFL began to play some games in December on Thursday night.

Fast-forward to 2021 and here at Gillette Stadium not only are the Patriots back but fans are back and if you love this sport, you love Thursday night football and especially Thursday night football here at Gillette Stadium.

Now tonight becomes even better because it is also the preseason opener and Patriots are playing against the Washington Football Team.

Tonight’s game is also New England’s lone home game of the preseason. Patriots open the regular season at home against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, September 12.

Now if you’re coming here to Gillette Stadium there’s some things you should know before coming.

First, tickets are now fully mobile and everything is now cash-less and touchless inside the stadium.

Second, you don’t have to be vaccinated to come to a game, but if you aren’t, you are asked to wear a mask.

Third, if you’ve had COVID-19 within the last two weeks or been in contact with anyone who had the virus, you’re asked to stay home.

Okay, Thursday Night Football here at Gillette will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.

See You at the game!!
